Two
years after the release of Vena Sera,
Sci-Fi Crimes comes to life, but even with the extraterrestrial theme
throughout the album you don’t really feel like you need to
discover what it is
all about. The album is a typical Chevelle album through and through,
meaning
that there are a few songs that are sketchy, like
“Roswell’s Spell” but then
you find a gem like “This Circus” which is one of
their best songs to date.
Another odd choice is the release of Jars as their radio single, and
the
strange track ordering on the album. Sci-Fi Crimes is defiantly not an
awful,
or even sub-standard record, it’s just another one for the
collection. 3/5
